The Boston Globe has an article today called "Blogs 'essential' to a good career". They list eight things that a blog does for you including build a network and help you build your career. I think that the whole list can be boiled down to " blogs can help make you a reputation". Put another way a god blog makes you into a brand.

You can build your credibility which means that people take you more seriously. That can lead to job offers, promotions or just greater flexibility to do what you want when and where you want. Blogs can get you noticed rather than being overlooked. Blogs can let you help others and that is always the right thing to do.

Blogging can be a great career move. It's not without risks but than what worth doing is without risks?
